Evening General English -15 Hrs

All grammar points and functions included in the syllabus are taught communicatively, ensuring students can thrive in an English-speaking environment. Outdoor learning is also promoted as part of the curriculum, supporting students in applying what they have learned to real-life, everyday situations. NIS offers a range of General English courses from Beginner (A1) to Advanced (C2).

All students take the Oxford placement test upon enrolling and complete a speaking interview with a member of the teaching staff before starting their course to ensure they are placed at the appropriate level. In addition to the initial placement, we have monthly skills testing to track student progress. Each student also maintains a learning portfolio, which monitors their achievement of course-level learning outcomes.

To progress through the levels, students are required to take paid exit tests at three threshold levels - A2+, B1+, and B2+ (please refer to the price list for more details). These external assessments ensure students meet the required standards for moving forward.

As part of the curriculum, NIS uses either the Cambridge Empower or Express Publishing 4Minds course books as the core texts, depending on the student's level (again, see the price list for further details). These resources, combined with regular testing, ensure structured and measurable progress throughout the course.
